La musica: ascolto e visione

An event of the "Courtyard of the Gentiles", takes place at the Centro Studi Americani on Friday 6 March from 5.30pm to 7.30pm, under the title "The Piazza and the Temple" a dialogue presided and moderated by Giuliano Amato, President of the Fondazione Cortile dei Gentili, with Charles Taylor, Canadian Philosopher and José Casanova, Professor of Sociology of Religion (Georgetown University), Alessandro Ferrara, Professor of Political Philosopher (Tor Vergata), Giacomo Marramao, Professor of Theoretical Philosophy (Roma tre) and François Bousquet, Historian and Anthropologist of Religions.

The event shall be a meeting of believers and non-believers on how in the 21st century the two sensitivies of Piazza and Temple can coexist allowing equal liberty for all. We shall be asking how these voices can live together, what are the limits that rights bring, and how can the piazza and the temple have a Palace.

A post-secular dialogue in front of a solid backdrop: the decline of an understanding of secularisation that believed temples would be progressively emptied.
