Pope Francis receives 500 children from troubled backgrounds.
A special train stops at the Vatican City State carrying children from poor neighbourhoods of Rome and Naples. Organised by the Courtyard of the Children, the initiative also has the participation of Italy’s Education Ministry which helped choose the children, all aged between 9 and 10 from areas where many kids drop out of school at an early age. The visit includes a moment in St Peter’s Basilica, time with the Pope, and then at the Colosseum.
