The Courtyard of the Heart, 3-8 June 2013.

Albert Camus and Paul Ricoeur

In the wake of the success of the Paris "Courtyard of the Gentiles", the diocese of Marseille has chosen to have an event in the heart of Marseille, during the Marseille-Provence 2013 | European Capital of Culture, calling it the parvis du Coeur with conversations focusing on the French philosophers Albert Camus and Paul Ricoeur one hundred years after their birth in 1913.

The event takes place during the feast of the Sacred Heart (7 June). In fact, the people of Marseille, whatever their religious or political opinions, continue to show their faithfulness to the spiritual process through the mercy of the heart of God. Today almost 300 years after the population dedicated itself to the Sacred Heart during a plague, the Church of Marseille wants to use this occasion to witness to the good news of the goodness of God, including the intercultural and interreligious dialogue proposed in the Courtyard of the Gentiles.
