THE TRAIN OF CHILDREN, A VOYAGE THROUGH BEAUTY

A Frecciargento
A train of beauty

On 23 June, around 300 children and those accompanying them took a FrecciaArgento train in a voyage of beauty. Departing from Milan, after two intermediate stops in Bologna and Florence they arrived at the Vatican's own train station where the children gathered to greet the Holy Father at the moment of the Angelus.

The aim of the "Train of children, a voyage through beauty” is to promote the experience of created art, giving the children a chance to participate in visible communication, in the language of images. This happened already as the children visited the Duomo in each of the cities along the way, educating them in beauty and the strength of cooperation as a common good.

During the voyage from Milan to Rome, children's educational material was supplied by the personnel of the Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane. And the Children's Courtyard benefited from the participation of Rome's Ospedale Bambino Gesù which provided a special welcome to the children, who come from troubled backgrounds, many having never traveled.

Together with its task of making adult believers and non-believers speak to each other, the Courtyard of the Gentiles, through its Children's Courtyard has sought to create a space dedicated to building up values in people from an early age, through teaching and formation.
